San Antonio Trip—Day 4: Flying

I spent my travel day to San Antonio running—rushing to get packed, to the airport, and then to rest once I got to the motel. On the way back, I was flying. It was a fasted paced day: going to church, getting something to eat, going to a different ball park, returning the rental car, and making the flight.

Church was great, but I had to fly to the ball park. I got something to eat on the way Jason’s Deli, which was right off the highway. When I got to the university, it was hard to find the field. Also, there was a lot of construction going on, so once I found the field, it was hard to find a place to park and then find a path that would bring me back to the field.

After the game, I flew back to the airport, returned the car, and made it to my gate in time to make my flight. Once home, I crashed again because I had to be at work early.

San Antonio Trip—Day 3: Baseball

Well, baseball started early today and I was well rested! This morning on the way to the Ball Park, I did not get lost on the way to the park. The games were good and the weather was beautiful—a little cool but it warmed up. Also, it was a quieter during the games. Yesterday, they had several planes flying over the field. Some jets (fighters and bombers) and another plane were flying around the air base, which is close to the field.

After the game, I met-up with a friend for dinner. We had a good meal and spent about two hours catching-up. I had a good time, but had to leave to get ready for a busy day tomorrow!

San Antonio Trip—Day 2: Lost?

Well, Wendy would not be surprised, but I got a little lost on the way to the Ball Park this morning. I would not really call it lost but a bit diverted. I missed an exit and was really out of the way before I noticed. I used the map and found a new route; however, there was construction and it seemed as though I did not know where I was going.

The ball game was long. In fact, it may have been the longest game I remember seeing. It was boring because there were not very many runs scored. Back at the motel, I just crashed. And with all the excitement, my cell phone is giving me trouble! I’m looking forward to the double hitter tomorrow!

San Antonio Trip—Day 1: Running

My long anticipated trip to San Antonio (and away from work) began by me running. As always is the case, a short week at work means that there is no shortage of work—what you usually do in 5 days has to be done in less! This past week was no different, except that we were exceptionally busy.

I did not have an opportunity to complete some pretty mundane chores before leaving for work on Wednesday, which meant that when I got in from work I would have to wash my clothes and pack for my trip. That was not a problem until I didn’t leave work until 3:00 a.m. After getting home and getting these chores done, I was able to take a nap for two hours and then get ready to go to the airport.

Apparently each time I leave New Orleans for a trip a monsoon occurs. I always have to carry my bags in the rain and squeeze them into the cab of my truck. So I arrived at the airport soaking wet, but it was not that big of a problem because I would have plenty of time to dry off—my flight was delayed.

My flights were good and once we left New Orleans the weather was beautiful. Upon arriving in San Antonio, I picked up a vehicle and drove approximately four blocks to my motel. After running to get my work completed, running to get packed, running to get to the airport on-time (and somewhat dry), I was now running to the motel to get some rest! After taking a nap, I went to a restaurant near the hotel and got some dinner and then went back to sleep.

Sorry for not having any pictures, but that is the nature of traveling and not doing much other than flying. I’ll have some tomorrow from the baseball games!
