Minot Vacation Day 3: Air Force Base and Whirlawhip

Today, Chris gave us a guided tour of the hangar where they keep the helicopters in which he rides as a part of his job, as well as one of the aircraft. After this brief tour of the base, we went to Stanley, N.D. and ate at the Two-Way Lounge and Steak House. I was disappointed because they did not have any steak on their lunch menu. :( After lunch we went to the North Dakota Drug Company (an old-fashioned pharmacy in Stanley) and had a Whirlawhip at the soda fountain. After we returned to Minot, we got to meet Chris’ fiancée Patti for the first time. Then Patti got to eat crawfish étouffée for the first time. Tomorrow we go south to Rapid City, S.D. On our excursion we are planning to go to Mount Rushmore and Sturgis. It is a long trip, so I better get some rest before we go. Here are the pictures from the day. Enjoy!!
